None of the above. Used 2016 smart fortwo with manual transmission, pocket $0-$2000

But the FiST is FWD.

But it basically drives like a rwd and is more fun

Good point!

Damn this is a hard list to choose out of. I say Fiesta ST for the versatility of it because its a hatch. But the downside is that all the other options have more tuneability than the Fiesta.

At 12k you are spoiled for choice with mustangs. From 4 cyl to 8 and multiple body styles across 50+ model years. An absurdly large aftermarket and nearly anything you want to do to it has been done and documented before.

RWD is way more fun than FWD

Neither, a 1999 SC300, pocket about 6 grand.

None of the above. Go to my storage and retrieve my Solstice, pocket all of $12k. Or just go downstairs and start my F30.

i vote for the “old pickup truck”......

Given my proportions it would have to be either the 370 or Mustang. Probably the Mustang.

No Miata?

Depends. I drove an FRS relatively extensively before I got my FiST, and stock for stock the FWD is way more fun.

You can get a 2011-12 Mustang 5.0 for that budget.

Miata isn’t always the answer

it all depends on whether you are buying or selling......

Perhaps “in general RWD is more fun than FWD, however not all RWD cars are more fun than all FWD cars”. I’d much rather have a FiST over a Toyobarion, but I’d rather have a 370Z over either.

You left out the GTO...... The GTO is the best pick, and everything else is wrong.

From everything I’ve seen, the 370 isn’t anything to write home about either. For that 12k, I’d get a 2011-2012 Mustang 5.0.

370z. And save up for new brakes. And tires. And a better alignment.

Boxster.

$12k? Get an e9x 335is... or the world’s nicest E46 330i?

Z because I am loyal and is the best looking Z since my original and looks the most like the original. I like the 300ZX but it doesn’t look anything like an S30. Reasons.

The newest G37S I can find, basically the 370z with more class.

Ughhhhh....
Miata.
But out of those choices. Mustang

MGB GT. Rover V8. Stroker crank from a Buick 300. Jaguar IRS.
Smoke the lot of them in both speed and style.

I’ve not drove a FiST but I cannot imagine how it’s more fun than a Toyobaru in anyway other than a straight line due to the extra power

The FiST is just more complete from the factory. I have no doubt that if you wanted to throw money at it, you could have a better modded FRS, but stock for stock it just isn’t as enjoyable. I’ve yet to drive something that has more of a make you smile tendancy.
